"Balm-Bard" Your Lover with Smooth Kisses

Ok, for the first time this season (I think), it snowed in STL today. Which got me to thinking, it's time to head to the store to get the essentials, lip balm and lotion is always number one on my list. And no ladies, those cheap ass 99 cent lip glazes from the Beauty Supply won't suffice, so don't even think about it. My man loves purple kisses and my MAC lipgloss would definatel do the trick, BUT When the temperature starts to dip I want an little extra, lip balm quickly becomes a seasonal necessity that you should be carrying into the new year. And while you could drop a buck on a tube of Chapstick, the best balms are packed with natural healers and moisturizers, which are a plus! And buying quality means you won't have to keep swiping it on every ten minutes.

My fave! IS Burt's Bees, their lotion is bombriffic and so is their balm. It has a funny smell but the smooth moisterized texture last for centuries, lol! You can pick up Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm, $3 at Burts Bees or at your local Walgreens.

I also suggest:

Lab Series Instant Moisture, $10 at Nordstrom; Malin + Goetz Lip Moisturizer, $12 at Malin + Goetz.

Mario Badescu Lip Wax, $5 at Blue Mercury; Kiehl's Facial Fuel Lip Balm, $8.50 at Kiehl's.

All three products are for men and women, so umm fellas...don't be shy, you may need to invest in some lip balm too.

Tattoo of my chick's lips on my pelvis. Well, It's the pubic part...

Excuse me y'all.

Disney x The Hundreds

Interesting.

I'm a big fan of The Hundreds...Mostly because of the name (I'm from the 100's in Chicago), But they've always had clean pieces.

I like how they opted to use lesser known Disney characters instead of the obvious and overdone characters...Mickey, Goofy etc.

I'm definitely looking forward to this...

HUMöR

HUMöR from Denmark is an interesting menswear line, their philosophy is to create a style which mix materials, designs, details and colors to create an overall look. ” We are working on a total look, which is heavily influenced by the metropolitan underground music. The DJ culture is alive and kicking in New York, Berlin, London and Copenhagen.” A major source of inspiration in this connection is Tokyo´s Shibuya area, where the fashion crowd is giving an entirely new meaning to the word paint box. I love the boldness of this line and the design patterns are a dream to the eyes of a graphic designer.

And We're Back...

Hey Web World! Hope you guys all had an awesome Thanksgiving! Anyways... Cool Pics..

I'm gonna need you to get a lining there big guy.

Are there even lenses in them ma'fuckas P?

My guy 'Ye with his big serial killer face.

Although I do like how some frames look, And there is definitely some fly eyeglasses I'd rock if I needed some prescriptions, I'm not one to go way out of my way to force a look.

I'm good. I like my 20/20 the way it is...I don't need to accentuate my face with useless pieces of clear glass.

It's kind of a mockery to those who really can't see shit...lol.

Dime Piece ?

I have been into this line for about a year now. I heard about the line first on Myspace, then I checked out their website website . I was just impressed. Originally the name threw me off (Dime Piece… wtf??) but after seeing the designs and understanding their concept I just had to put you on:

What possibly caught my eye besides their designs is their in-your-face ad’s. This collection of clothing is creative annd oober cute. Designs for the divas, the daring edgy ones who are just simply not afraid to take risks and try new things. I will try to update you on the line as much as possible.

P.S. Their Website is DOPE AS FUCK!

Fremont - Anna Jacket

I love this line. The tough, elegant pieces have updated classic silhouettes with a hint of masculinity. Using heavy wool (for coats), twills, jersey, silk, and cashmere blends and embellishing with recycled polyester buttons, horn, and corozo trim, the duo created easy-to-wear tops, bottoms, and dresses which instantly enhances your style swag!

Via Fremont:

About the designers || Fremont is a creative collaboration stemming from the mind of two young designers, Devin Carlson and Brittany Pham. They began working as a team with Jessica Loria in 2005, which is when they gave birth to their first SS06 collection. The collaboration came about when the three were running in the same social circle, Devin Carlson along with good friend Jessica Loria had just returned from a trip to Palm Springs and loved the aesthetic of a time when craftsmanship and leisure activity were valued before anything else. Brittany Pham was also thinking of starting a new line for a higher developing contemporary market. The three united and formed Fremont. The last few seasons the Designers have really come into their own and the Collection has developed from fun summer dresses and leisure trousers to a collection known for quality and being on the front line of creativity.

Two-Faced Kitten. Cutest Freak Of Nature...Ever?

"Isn't that the cutest widdle abomination? Yes he is! Yes he is!"

Via Faux News:

A kitten with two faces that meows out of both mouths at the same time was born Wednesday near Perth, Western Australia.

The kitten was delivered in a vet's operating room after its mother had complications with the birth.

The two-faced feline was one of three in a litter and appears to be doing well.

It hasn't got a name yet, but the owner is thinking of calling it Quasi Modo, according to local news Web site inmycommunity.com.au.

Veterinarian George Huber and nurse Louisa Burgess delivered the kitten.

Burgess said that in her 12-year career' she had never seen a two-faced cat.

"I have seen cats with two tails and extra legs, but not this," she said.

So...You just gonna walk around with two faces kitty?

That's how you feel?

That's what hot in these streets?

OK.

Anybody who knows me, KNOWS that I HATE cats with a passion, But for some reason, Kittens get a pass from me. They're cute as hell.

But imagine when this cute little Harvey Dent-esque kitten turns into a full-grown nasty ass cat? Yea...That's when all the cuteness stops.

I...Can't...Breathe.

You know what, I'm not even going to do a write-up.

I'm gonna just let this sneak up on you like it snuck up on me...lol.

Enjoy.

Who Watches The Watchmen?

Me.

http://www.focoproject.com/imagenes/libros/watchmen.jpg

The film adaptation for the graphic novel that revolutionized a genre is nearing release, And my inner-nerd is GEEKED.

Watchmen redefined what comic book characters are supposed to be by portraying superheroes as morally flawed individuals with serious issues. One of the "superheroes" is a paranoid schizophrenic, Another is a rapist.

The subject matter was pretty hardcore for the time (1986), And still is today. So it goes without saying that the movie will be R-Rated. I hope parents don't take their kids to this thinking it's Spider-Man, Because it's obviously not.

To give you an idea of how great Watchmen is, It was the only graphic novel to appear on Time's 2005 list of "the 100 best English-language novels from 1923 to the present". That's a helluva accomplishment.

March 6th, 2009.

So...Why are we still using oil?

I'm as happy about gas being $2.00 as the rest of you, But we need to get off of oil...period.

Not just for the environment, But to free ourselves from the grip of big gov't/corporations.

But oil = political power/money.

If reading this blog was the first time you've ever heard of this, That says a lot.

When everybody was complaining about $5.00 gas this past summer, This story should've been on every major news outlet in the world, And people should've been outside the White House protesting and questioning why we aren't using this technology...Not now, but right now. But strangely, They weren't.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a person that is aware of this...I don't think that's a coincidence.

Is it wishful thinking to believe that "the powers that be" would allow us to have free energy?

Designer Spotlight : Hyden Yoo

"Brooklyn Hipster meets Wall Street Banker" ... What an amazing swag to have!

Valet Mag had an interesting interview with up and coming designer Hyden Yoo. The interview touches on everything from his appearance on Fear Factor to his personal style icons. When asked about his Fall collection he says that “The fall collection is my first stab at a full collection, and luckily, it’s been really well received…Brooklyn hipster meets Wall Street banker is the easiest way to describe it—classic pieces with a slim fit and subtle details to add a little edge.” I LOVE his line because it's so 1824-ish!

Sending out an SOS...

Keyshia Cole's Mother releases Gospel Album

As a reality T.V. junky, I love Keyshia's show. The new season rocks. She's SO diva and her car is the SHIT. I want one. I love the way the family is coming together and new developments in her life.. blah blah blah..and the anticipation of the new album ..blah blah blah... BUT did any one see the episode of her show that aired two weeks ago? LOL. ALL that i've been thinking about was when Frankie said that she's getting $2000 to do a "walk through". LMAO, who? what? when? where? and more importantly.....WHY? (see clip below at 0:59 seconds), also Shay and I are wondering where she's still getting jean suits at in 2008. lol. All bullshit aside though, I love Frankie and I am happy that she finally got her life together ! ;)

Speaking of Frankie Did you know that she is going to release a gospel album? :...

Via DimeWars:

R&B sensation Keyshia Cole is apparently not the only one in the family with musical talent. According to a C&W Records press release, Dr. Yvonne Cole, an ordained minister and adopted mother of the sexy siren is scheduled to drop a gospel album in February. The first single,” Get Your Praise On,” was released earlier this month and is gaining rotations on local radio stations across California. There has been no word on whether Yvonne’s superstar daughter will make an appearance on the album, but with so much family drama, who would want to?

Disturbed. That's what I am when I watch this video,lol... I'm trying to figure out WHY it has no comments, lol. Jonathan (who sent this to me), where did you even get this? She's gives magical p****s everywhere a bad name. It's SO weird. I can't even laugh when I watch it. Is it comedy? Is she serious? THOSE ADLIBS! I don't know what to think about the flapping clitoris drawings, the unicorns, her horrible ensemble, that voice, those shoes, the pubic hair, the graphics... SENSORY OVERLOAD !

Real life superhero?

Quick run-down:

  • Sayyed Muhammad Ahmad Abdallah has the power of 260 horses, Which is roughly the equivalent of 30,000 men.
  • He has been married 24 times and fathered 35 children.
  • He can bend coins with his eye socket or his tongue, and can rip them with his bare hands.
  • He has to have sex with his 4 current wives at least 15 times a day (in total).
  • He can't shake hands with someone without breaking all of their fingers.
  • He has to eat raw mutton (lamb's meat) and drink melted butter.
Ok, I'm not sure if I believe this.

Brain teaser: If he can't shake hands with someone without breaking all of their fingers, How can he beat up the coochie 15 times a day without KILLING his wives?

Their uteruses have to be worthless by now.

But if he is telling the truth, That raises more questions.

Is the gov't aware of this? Are there more like him?

Creepy.

But I do know a sure-fire way to determine whether or not he really has super-human abilities...

Send him to the Southside of Chicago...I bet he can't beat the GD's.

Edit - LMAO @ Him claiming he wouldn't lift the car because he might lose it and go crazy.

You is not the Incredible Hulk G. Getcha big "You won't like me when I'm angry" face ass.

Japanese toymaker Takara Tomy today unveiled a new digital camera that features a built-in printer [JP] and is ailmed at women in their 20s and 30s as well as families. The company says it will soon release more products that are based on the same technology.

The so-called xiao TIP-521 comes with the following specs:
- 5 megapixels
- 4x digital zoom
- 2.48-inch LCD screen
- infrared port and support of
SD/SDHC memory cards
- thermal line printer with an OK resolution of 313dpi
(size of the prints: 2×3 inches)
- size: 149.5mm x 74.5mm x 25mm
- weight: 294 grams

The xiao (”small” in Chinese) will be sold in Japan starting November 28 for $320. 20 sheets of printing paper will cost $8. Takara Tomy expects a sales volume of 100,000 units per year in this country. American customers will likely get the xiao TIP-521 in April or May 2009.

So the "Air Yeezy" finally has a release date...

Ummm...Too little too late?

"Where are you Yeezy?"

Instead of capitalizing off of the initial hype when pictures of the Yeezys released months ago, KanYe kept teasing everybody by rockin' different colorways of the shoe at public appearances and concerts, Which obviously sent the internet into a frenzy even more.

Since then, Fake versions of the Air Yeezy have appeared on ebaY, And the hype for the shoe subsequently died down after people got tired of waiting for any shred of information on a release date.

Via Sneakerfiles.com:

The Nike Air Yeezy (Kanye West signature shoes) will release starting in the spring of 2009. Sneaker Files has confirmed that the majority of Air Yeezy styles and colorways will be limited releases. The Air Yeezy is inspired by Kanye West’s favorite shoes, notably the Air Jordan III (3) (used for the Yeezy mid-sole makeup). The Air Yeezy is highlited with glow in the dark accents which streak through the Nike Swoosh and Jordan III inspired mid-sole.

Now, I like the kicks, But there are a few things deterring me from getting them:

  • They're going to be the ultimate hypebeast shoe. KanYe has a cult-like following amongst hypebeasts, And you KNOW they're going to be out in full-force the night before the release in their sleeping bags and tents.
  • The Air Yeezy will be limited, Which means the resale price is going to be through the roof. If you miss out on release day, Expect these to be going for rape-like prices on ebaY.
  • The fakes. The Air Yeezys you paid your hard-earned money for won't be that special when the not-so-real versions hit your local barbershop/hood vendor. And trust that everybody and their Momma is gonna have "them KanYe shoes".
Those are just my thoughts though. At the end of the day, I buy what I like and tend not to worry about what everybody else is doing. I hope you guys do the same.

I do like the fact that the Yeezy looks like a high-end high-top sneaker. It's like Yves Saint Laurent x Dior x Raf Simon meets Nike/Jordan. If I do end up getting a pair, It will definitely be the black joints. Nice, Clean, And simple.

Headhoods

HEAD HOODIES!

My BFF Stan (lol, inside joke), put me on to this site. Am I late? I have a feeling that I am. :shrugs:: even if I am, it still doesn't take away the dopeness of these custom hand painted hoodies! I was sold with the Marilyn Monroe one (Christmas present :hint). At first glance I thought “What’s the big deal?” but once I clicked into the site I realized what all the buzz was about. They are awesome. Head Hoodies are pretty straight forward, it's a head printed on the hood of a hoodie (say that three times fast). All of the heads are printed on American Apparel sweatshirts with your choice of zip-up, a fitted pull-over, or sleeveless.

Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell

Lately, I've been TOO busy enjoy one of my favorite past times (reading), but this weekend I had a few minutes to FINALLY finish reading Blink (amazing)! In fact I enjoyed Blink so much that I wanted to hear more from M.G. Well, he's at it again! This time with his latest guide on success and the way that people experience success. Having described his book Outliers as “a scientific term to describe things or phenomena that lie outside normal experience” it’s most likely everything one would expect and more. I plan to take my much anticipated pay check to Borders this weekend to pick me up a copy. I find success reads particularly interesting because of my entrepreneurial mind state. To read an interview about Outliers click here and to purchase it along with some of Malcolm’s other classic go here.

So many Mikes, So little money...

*Sigh*

So, The OG 1's dropped a few days ago. No, I'm not late, I just chose not to post out of depression...Yea.

The same ones that the NBA banned from the league in 1985 a.k.a The most gangsta shoe EVER.

They fucked them up (As they almost always do) by adding a strap (For what?), But it can be removed and restored to it's original glory.

I missed out on the 1st re-release, And I still don't have these because I'm having a hard time keeping up with all of these damn releases. No average person can realistically stay on top of all these Jordans that are dropping. They coming out with a $400 pack every month...Shiiit, I know that's rent money for a lot of you out there.

Usually, Jordan Brand oversaturates the market and comes out with a lot of bullshit, So it's easy to pass on a lot of the wack shoes they drop and be ready for the good releases. But lately, They've actually been on top of their game (Except for the Fusions. I'm sorry in advance if you have a pair). It almost makes me wish they would get back on bullshit.

I just stick to the original colors that made me fall in love with Mikes to begin with: The Bulls colorways, Aquas, Grapes, Bordeauxs etc. So they can miss me with the Air Jordan x Air Force x Payless Shaq Shoe collabs.

It's gonna be really hectic on December 26th tho. The almighty 11's are finally coming out:

I remember people getting shot/stabbed/beat up for these shoes back in the mid-90's. Times have changed, But I'll still keep some form of weapon with me on release day. You know...Just in case.

RbG Rainbow Glasses By Luís Porém

(Gucci Mane) Well Damn! (Gucci Mane)

Probably one of the most innovative ideas I've seen in awhile.

Ink-filled glasses?

Via luisporem.com:

The structure of the RbG glasses has an internal channel where the colorful ink passes through, painting it with the colours you desire, allowing you to have a different look everytime you want.
So basically the color of the glasses changes depending on what color ink you put in them that day...Getcha Chameleon face-head ass.

I'm not really into glasses, But I'm sure a lot of you are...These are pretty dope. Just hope you don't get punched in the face.

(Gucci Mane) N'yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaah... (Gucci Mane)

Album Review : 808s + Heartbreak

I wanted to wait until the legit album dropped to give a review, but I think my guy Ronnie did an excellent review on his blog, which is hilarious by the way (lol) ,of the album and I wanted to share it with you all. Here goes:

I'm listening to KanYe West's 808s + Heartbreak...

...I dig this shit here. It definitely won't garner my support for rap/hip hop album of the year, but it'll get honorary mention for the "We just invented a category to bring attention to this album" award. This fat dude from Florida said that the only two songs on the album worth your ear's usage were the ones featuring Young Jeezy and Lil Weezy. Not True."Paranoid" featuring KiD CuDi of "Day n Nite" fame is a crossover pop HIT waiting to happen. CuDi's unique melodic voice is a nice fit for the seemingly 80's inspired instrumental. "Streetlights" is another joint that has grown on me. Actually, that seems to be the theme of the entire CD, as in the very first listen I was rocking an official 2008 "What the Fuck"It's all good though...once you give it a few listens and put your "hip hop" headphones up, it's a solid album.

Scratch that....it's NOT all good afterall. "Robocop" is, in the sage words of a Downtown bum, "fucking doo-doo with the drawls ripped". The beat isn't all that bad...but the lyrics? THE LYRICS? "I knew she was a drama Queen...that'll turn my life into Stephen King..." No wait...that line was dope. Ah...the chorus! "Cuz I don't want no Robocop....you movin' like a Robocop...when did you become a Robocop? No I don't need no Robocop..."Stop. face...taken aback by the overall direction of the album.
That's not the only misstep, but the other ones aren't as glaring. Not sure if this will make the retail version or not, but just in case it does, allow me to say this: Kanye, the next song that you allow Robert Kelly to fondle like it was your niece for the sake of a remix, will be the last song that I listen to by you. Word is bond. Now, I understand how unauthorized remixes and all that go, but I'm just saying...LET ME FIND OUT THE NIGGA SIGNED OFF ON THIS SHIT. "You Loooooooosee" a fan.

The fact that the entire album was dipped in 'Zapp n Roger not-so-secret sauce' doesn't help things either...but some things can be overlooked, because it doesn't alter his voice nearly as much as, say T-Pain's. His synthesizer helps someone though, as Young Jeezy shines unusually bright on "Amazing". To quote Jay, "Just the sound of his voice is a hit"...and when Jeezy comes thru at the middle of the song, the regular speaking folks rejoiced..."I'm A-Maaaaaazin! (Amaaaazin!)" That's all he had to say and he improved the track 10 fold. All in all, the only song I couldn't stand listening to was "Robocop"...so he's still way ahead of you typical rap niggas.

You can also catch the guys on the new Leaders of the New Cool Mixtape (remember we posted a free download for this albums earlier this week!) Anyways... Here's the interview. They are obviously hella cool. Enjoy.

When did you and Thurz meet, how well was the connection between both of you?

We branched out in 06' as "U-N-I" & released "Fried Chicken & Watermelon" in 07'.

Thurz: Yup

- What does "U-N-I" stand for?

YO: It came from the "Illadelph Halflife" with The Roots feat. Common. It's a 1st person statement like "You" as in Thurz & "I" as in myself.

Thurz: Superman and IronMan

- When did you know you wanted to persue a career in music?

YO: I would say when I put down the rock, as in a basketball lol. That was in 03' when I was suppose to go play ball in Iowa, but the coach re-signed on me & I just closer to music

YO: The KRS-1 Boogie Down Hardcore Live album made me pick up the pen. Before then I can remember listening to Kriss Kross, MC Hammer, Naughty By Nature, had my Thriller Jacket & moonwalk shoes...lol!! The 1st cd I bought with my own money was Mos Def "Black On Both Sides".

Thurz: Everyone who Y-O said...De La Soul, Tribe, Lost Boyz, Wutang, Biggie, Black Star...the list goes on

YO: Yonas, Yannick & Ro Presents: "A LOVE SUPREME"

Thurz: Tours, videos and more fresh music

WOW!

Are Blacks & Latinos to blame!?!? ..let the fingerpointing begin.

( written by Kortni Devon)

All throughout the civil rights movement & even up until today, the support of others has been critical in the advancement of oppressed minority groups. I do not at all mean to trivialize or ignore all of the struggles that we, as African Americans or women (personally speaking), have faced and continue to face alone. But maybe we should consider other propositions that trampled the rights of Americans this ’08 election-- Nebraska banned public agencies from using affirmative action & English was unnecessarily made the official language for all Missouri’s government proceedings in order to prohibit non-English speaking AMERICANS from using any other language in all government meetings, as well as on ballots, driver's license exams and other documents. Both ballot measures negatively affect minorities and we need everyone's vote to turn it around… even the vote of the homosexual population. When you offer a helping hand, you get one in return.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
Martin Luther King Jr

Of course blacks, latinos, women, and any group that has experienced the abuse by this country through discrimination should be at the forefront for equal rights. The importance of all people for all people no matter the race, religion, or creed should be emphasized. BUT it goes both ways. Instead of bashing the black voters for their vote against gay marriage, maybe those upset should be reaching out to other communities. Try to make friends and not enemies from this situation because the truth of the matter is, the gay community will still need the vote of all the people they are talking so badly about now. How are you gonna call someone a "bigot" or "ignorant" and then ask for their vote??? It is destructive to the goal of advancing equality.

Even more, to compare the oppression of slavery and individual & institutionalized racism to losing the right to marry.. slightly out of touch?? I think so.

I get it, I get it. Oppressed for the oppressed. But this is NOT a race issue and to single out the black and latino voters makes it one. Rossane Barr, and the many like her blaming blacks and latinos, are fighting the wrong fight. I think its a shame, but when race is carried in then we are only distracted from the issue.

California's blacks and latinos are not solely responsible for the outcome of prop 8, & to say otherwise not only suggest that there are no black or latino gays in California but also that this is a race issue and not an issue of sexual orientation. And, more obviously, it ignores the mere fact that while 73% of black voters may have voted for Prop 8, they still only make up 10% of the vote. The deciding votes of the white majority seem to show that they too may not have learned much from a past of hate & discrimination.. It was group of mainly white evangelicals who made the proposition in the first place. The Asain Heritage Coalition also supported it.

The problem with proposition 8 is that people were asked to choose between their faith and the rights of others when, because of this supposed seperation of church and state, it shouldn't be an choice in the 1st place. Maybe if the proposition was worded: Should all couples have equal rights within the law? ..Then the response would've been different. But instead, people's faith came into play. Many people aren't against gay rights so much as gay marriage which, when asked to vote for, it becomes a religious crime that they can't support.

The sanctity of marriage rests in its religious foundation. Whether you're Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Muslim, etc.. Gay marriage infringes on religious beliefs and the definition of marriage itself. I do not believe in gay marriage, however, I do believe in equal rights and the separation of church and state. There are rights & privileges allotted to married couples by our government and society. For example, during this very same election, unmarried couples lost the right to adopt in Arkansas through a proposition also aimed against gay couples. There are also tens of thousands of children who will not have the healthcare coverage that children of heterosexual families enjoy.

SOLUTION?!??
I believe that because marriage is a sacred religious union of a man and a woman that it should not at all be recognized or rewarded by the state. What seems like the simple solution is to make civil unions mandatory for those couples (gay or straight) who wish to have protections, responsibilities, and rights through the law. Marriages would still exist, but only be acknowledged in & through one’s faith and spirituality. And for all those heterosexual couples who want to make the commitment w/o all the responsibility of legal recognition, they could practice their faith w/o answering to their country

SooOoo..

Marriage is a spiritual bond of love and oneness between two people. An expression of commitment and family and the desire for, what in this country includes: protections, responsibilities, and rights through the law. And THAT is what this is about. Everybody's right for THOSE things in THIS country.

Our law says that everyone is equal. All I am saying is that everyone should then be treated equally.
...I don't believe in homosexual marriage, but I do believe in equal rights for all people. And because, in this country, in order to have equal rights as a couple you must be married.. I am against Prop 8.

SPLURGE FILES

Do Those Red Bottoms Make You Orgasm Too?

I mean if you're gonna spend $600.00, It might as well be on red bottoms! Just think about it. The price equates only to two Jordan packs or a Coach Bag.Don't let the celebs have all the fun ladies. Christian Louboutin - Very Prive Tag Pumps are ultra amazing! In my quest for THE perfect birthday shoes (and to satisfy my BFF Mario wants me to change my walk and wear "bad bitch" heels). You have no choice but to be diva in these! I came across these and it was love at first site. I think it's the graffiti. I love anything artsy! Every woman needs a cute peep toe pump in her closest and if you are aspiring to expand your shoe collection, these are a MUST HAVE. They will never go out of style and you can wear the all black leather ones with anything. The best thing about these are that the heel is only a 4 1/2 inch stiletto --not too high but high enough to provoke glances ;). Think that they will be uncomfortable? Think again! These are better than the Christian Loubutin Minibout pumps (as far as fit goes)because they aren't as narrow. I haven't given up on my search though. I'll keep you updated !Oh & Love you Lou!

Do you paint...Bitch?

"I do some watercolor..."

"May I see them? "

LMAO.

"Can you be friends with a bitch?"

"Kinda...Yea...Yea..."

Ignorant...LMAO.

Approaching the greatness of the Chappelle show? We'll see...This shit is quite entertaining to say the least.

BAG CHECK PLEASE

Any man of fashion knows that bags have become a necessary tool and style accessory. No longer seen as solely a woman’s item, men’s bags are masculine, attractive and ideal additions to any contemporary wardrobe. If you would like to dabble in the wide world of men’s bags, but don’t quite know which one would suit your needs best, heed this advice: Stick with a classic type of men's bag, and you can’t go wrong. The following are four types of men's bags that can be easily mixed and matched with your business and casual wardrobes.

1- Briefcase
Briefcases are probably the oldest form of “acceptable” handbags for men. Modern-day briefcases, however, have evolved a great deal since the days of your father’s sharp-cornered case. They’re no longer boxy; in fact, that’s about the only traditional element discarded in the modern briefcase. The classic shape (without the sharp corners), buckles, leather exterior, and practical interior compartments help make this bag a timeless addition to any working-man’s wardrobe.

2- Messenger bag
Aptly named, the messenger bag is designed after the bags traditionally carried throughout history by -- whom else? -- messengers. Often made from canvas and swung across the shoulder, messenger bags have taken on a whole new meaning in urban fashion. From students with canvas bags to urban hipsters with modern leather bags, the messenger’s laid-back style will always have a classic casual flair, but today’s leather messenger tote also exudes a hint of uptown sophistication.

3-HOLDALL

Any traveling man needs a holdall for those weekend jaunts or three-day business trips. Big, bulky luggage has transformed into sleek, stylish holdalls (or carryalls). Its design is inspired by the duffel bag, but its predominantly leather exterior and more refined appearance attribute a classic look to this practical tote.

4- Tote
A tote is the modern approach to the classic briefcase. Resembling an artisan’s bag, the tote is the utmost in casual business attire. Its basic design and usual soft leather exterior allots it a classic status, while its long handles give it a contemporary edge. If purchased in a chocolate brown or black, this bag can add a touch of laid-back masculinity to any casual work wear.

THEY DID THAT

ITS ALL IN THE BAG....

Throw out the old idea that bags are for women and get with the fashion-forward times. While classic bags like briefcases are still around, other bags with classic elements, like the messenger bag, are becoming almost necessary accessories for today’s modern man.

George Foreman Fryer Spins Fried Food To Knock Out Fat

So as I was watching "The View" this morning ( I know , I know..I act as if I'm 47),lol... They showcased this puppy at the end of the show. Well, I think my prayers have been answered,lol... A DEEP FRYER THAT REMOVES THE FAT FROM THE FOOD! Fried food that won't kill you?! *she calms down* A real life "Preserve My Sexy" machine!. Perfect.

I'm overly excited. I think that this was a great move for the George Foreman line because I'm sure people stopped buying the grills...who didn't have one? There was at least one in every college dorm or apartment. Anyways, this baby retails for about $150.00 (Not too bad). Great Christmas gift for a relative trying to watch their cholesterol...lol..WHO doesn't have one of those? *she smiles*

(source Gizmodo.com)

Innovative Technology: The George Foreman Lean Mean Fryer

The George Foreman Lean Mean Fryer uses unique, patented Smart Spin™ technology to knock out up to 55 percent of the fat absorbed during frying, delivering crisped, fried foods with less grease. After a conventional deep-frying cooking process, the Lean Mean Fryer enters the second phase of cooking – a "spin cycle" in the cooking basket. The basket is lifted from the cooking oil and Smart Spin technology is engaged, leveraging centrifugal forces to deliver a finished food product that retains up to 55 percent less fat than conventional frying methods*. During the spinning process, the food continues to cook through hot air convection to stay crispy and hot.

Additional Features:

· A viewing window allows consumers to safely check food while it's cooking without having to stop or open the deep-fryer.

· A variable thermostat dial, dual-speed spinning basket and spinning timer selection allows consumers to customize the cooking process based on the food selection and desired amount of oil removed.

· The Lean Mean Fryer contains a replaceable and washable filter, which reduces the release of oil vapors and odors into the kitchen.

· Other convenience features include a breakaway cord and dishwasher-safe (including the basket, frying bowl and filter) parts for easy cleaning and care.

Revolver 2008 Winter Collection: I...MUST...HAVE!

Uhhh...This shit is cold G.

Revolver's 2008 Winter Collection is quite shitty if I don't say so myself.

That middle crewneck is a must-have...For obvious reasons (Hint: I rap).

It first caught my attention a couple of weeks ago when I saw KanYe in wearing one...I was trying to track it down like a madman. I didn't even know the name of the brand that made it. I thought it was Jeremy Scott maybe, But I guess I was wrong. Well, Here we go...Via Hypebeast:

After celebrating their 10th year anniversary in Paris, Revolver is back in Tokyo to present their new 2008 Winter collection which is very much inspired by the 80’s. Bringing back the authentic but simple golden years of Hip Hop designs into the fashion industry, Revolver’s designer Kiri, with the help of French illustrator SO ME, is making a strong statement as the forefront of Japanese Hip Hop/Streetwear scene.

Arrrgh...I need that.

Some others I thought were decent:

KanYe's 4th studio album leaked last night.

My guy 'Ye is probably somewhere throwing a tantrum...lol.

I'm sure many of you will waste no time procuring this, But by all means go out and support 'Ye on November 24th.

I haven't listened to it yet, But I'll check it out later today.

Sidenote: My city is really inspiring me to be great. From the Obama win to KanYe pushing the limits of what a hip-hop artist is supposed to be, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't proud. Chicago will be thee city of the next 10 yrs...On my momma.

Y'all have a good day.

Solange > Beyonce

Why?

Sure.

To be clear, I never was a fan of Solange...Period. I always felt she was corny, lame, and attempting to capitalize off of her sister's superstardom. I was wrong, And I unfairly judged her at first. I'll get into that later.

I wouldn't say I was a fan of Beyonce per se, But I had no problems with her at all. From a guy's perspective, She was nice to look at and had some pretty good songs.

But over time I had noticed how artificial her persona was, And I gradually started to dislike her. Her dead/blank stare during interviews, Combined with that fake and forced smile she does really bothered me...lol. Check out some old Destiny's Child interviews and you'll probably see what I mean.

Like, Is there anything there? I love to see artists be themselves and not a pre-packaged facade fed to the public. We know that you're an international superstar, But do you have to act like a fuckin' Diva-Robot? The people want to relate to you.

Also, I'm not a fan of how the situation with the former Destiny's Child members being kicked out was handled. Seemed to be some shadiness going on there. Nor am I a fan of her having surgery done on her nose. I don't feel as though African-American women should undergo cosmetic surgery, Because they are natural beauties. Not only that, There seems to be a hint of self-hatred there as well. Can't have a "black" nose and be in the international spotlight? Right.

Damn. Nose job and lip reduction? That's how you feel "B"?

Anyway, This is what confirmed my "I don't fuck wit Beyonce like that" stance:

BC Jean - If I Were A Boy

Beyonce - If I Were A Boy

The story behind "If I Were a Boy" is absolutely scandalous … the young woman who wrote the melody and lyrics had no idea Beyonce had even recorded her song until a stranger called with the news. By then, it was too late.
BC Jean is a hot, up-and-coming, 21-year-old female singer songwriter from San Diego. Those who’ve met her says she’s smart and "gorgeous" (but) she and her manager/mother have been strong-armed by Beyonce’s people and others who saw gold in "If I Were a Boy" and didn’t care how they got it.
BC Jean wrote and recorded about a dozen songs with German pop-factory producer Toby Gad for an album … when the deal fell apart, Gad took the songs and started marketing them to big name, established artists.
When I wrote about Beyonce’s version of "If I Were a Boy" last week … plenty of people knew the saga of Beyonce’s manager/father Mathew Knowles’ aggressive pursuit of the publishing rights to the potential hit record. His goal was to get the rights to the song and to put Beyonce’s name on the writing credits.

Ok, So now we're stealing material from struggling artists?

Imagine you're an aspiring artist, Working hard at your craft, Trying to make something of yourself...

And some huge superstar steals your work without your knowledge or permission, Then doesn't compensate you until after you find out.

Now you've basically been bullied out of your work because said superstar is rich and you're not...Bogus.

Beyonce is not an artist...Artists create, Not steal.

Meanwhile, Solange has went from an awkward teenager with braces to a grown ass woman seemingly overnight. Mind you, A grown ass woman who writes her own music (She wrote "Get Me Bodied" BTW).

She has this new neo-soul/R&B vibe going for her, She's also a fly and down-to-earth individual.

Here's what first sold me on her:

Fuck The Industry

"I barely comb my hair, And that's on a good day..."

She keepin' it real...lol. The girl got lyrics + voice.

God Given Name

"I'm not her and never will be..."

Damn right.

She may never surpass her big sister in money or record sales, But I think she's already surpassing her musically and as a person. I'm rooting for Soul-Angel and looking for big things from her in the future.

Most Official Bitches

Whadown people.

Well, Since I posted Crooks And Castles new holiday collection, My BFF Jill (lol) felt it was only right that I post the female equivalent...Which is exactly what M.O.B is IMO.

It always struck me as Crooks And Castles with a feminine twist. They have some nice pieces for the ladies this season.

And being the equal-opportunity blogger that I am, I present to you the Married To The Mob Holiday 2008 Lookbook:

Do some of the pics strike you guys as "porny"?

I'm just sayin'...LMAO.

If you're reading this, I'd like to see YOU in those tights...Wink, Wink.

Bonus:

Nike Dunk Hi x Married To The Mob

The Reeboks were actually better IMO, But meh.

Good luck finding a pair though. They released this past Saturday at select retailers on some super-limited shit. Much like the M.O.B. Reeboks, I'm sure these will get snatched up fairly quickly.

Whadown.

Crooks just recently dropped their latest Holiday line-up for those that didn't know.

Crooks is one of the most consistent streetwear brands...Period. If you can even call it streetwear anymore.

Streetwear = Dead IMO, But that's a whole 'nother post now isn't it?

The lookbook is cold as hell actually. Obvious "crook" symbolism.

Enjoy:

French Photographer Launches Book

French photographer, JAM ABELANET goes into the deep realms of imagination and captures subway fantasies on the mysterious French Subway. He's launching a book called "FANTAISIES SOUTERRAINES", which will be composed of photographed pages of these erotic images. Here are a few samples. This is a must for coffee tables of the artistically capable! I'm ordering mines!

What's Weird is, I was going in this direction over a year ago. But I didn't quite go THERE. Wouldn't want to be arrested by STL police. The don't appreciate are as much as The French. But I think my images look good too, lol. Here are two:

Follow Up : ‘Assassination’ Artist’s Trail of Deception

Ok, Remember the Barack Obama Assassination Exhibit posted yesterday? Well, Here's a follow up (Thanks Shawn Theodore!). The artists claims that entire thing was false! The exhibit... The Web Site... The Galleries.... THE ARREST?! All made up. Personally, I think that he should still be arrested. I was personally offended by the "nappy headed hos" caption that he placed above the heads of little Sasha and Ma'Lia Obama!Imagine this same Gallery put with Sarah Palin and John McCain. With taunting remarks about Palin's children. He's definately be in jail!

An exhibit had the word “assassination” removed from its title in the window after the artist was questioned by the Secret Service. (Photo: Earl Wilson/The New York Times)

(New York Times <--Source)

The Daily News bought it. So did The Miami Herald. Michael Musto of The Village Voice fell for ittwice. The New York Sun expressed skepticism, but also uncertainty.

Indeed, any “censorship” of that earlier work was fiction. So were the shows, and even the galleries themselves.

“The whole thing was fabricated,” Mr. Arboleda acknowledged in a phone interview. He said he had taken photos of real galleries in Chelsea under the guise of the being an N.Y.U. master’s student doing research on artistic space in New York City. Then, using Adobe Photoshop, he manipulated the images to depict his own works on the walls.

It's G.o.D. Jewels...Hi.

Well, Since Barack Obama was elected President a week ago, I've been obsessively collecting all things Obama-related in an attempt to chronicle this momentous occasion for my future children.

So far I have digital copies of the front pages of almost every major newspaper from the day after the election, And a bunch of random pics I've found scattered across the interwebz. I just recently came across this gem.

It's an Obama portrait composed completely of his Presidential acceptance speech...Dope right?

Not bad for a first post if I don't say so myself.

I leave you with this:

McCain Falls On His Ass!

"UhUhUhUh....Arrrrgh...."

LOL.

Art or Racism? : Obama's Assasination

As a artist myself, I completely understanding "pushing the envelop" and going beyond the ordinary, but is this going too far? According to the Huffingtonpost.com, the controversial art exhibit was raided and shut down before it could be viewed in NYC (June 2008). The exhibit is supposed to be a vision of President elect, Barack Obama,'s assassination.

The New York Times reports that the New York City Police Department and Secret Service shut down an exhibition today entitled, "The Assassination of Hillary Clinton/The Assassination of Barack Obama." Below is a short description of what happened, as well as two very benign images from the exhibition. Click here to see the artist's website with more pictures from the exhibtion (warning graphic photos).

This morning, a Boston-born performance artist, Yazmany Arboleda, tried to set up a provocative art exhibition in a vacant storefront on West 40th Street in Midtown Manhattan with the title, "The Assassination of Hillary Clinton/The Assassination of Barack Obama," in neatly stenciled letters on the plate glass windows at street level.

By 9:30 a.m., New York City police detectives and Secret Service agents had shut down the exhibition, and building workers had quickly covered over the inflammatory title with large sheets of brown paper and blue masking tape.

WOW, I thought people with voices like his were only fiction

LOL.

Katy Perry Rocks Obama Dress

Katy Perry, whom also is reported to be in a relationship with Travis of Gym Class Heroes, was also spotted at the MTV Europe Music Awards rocking a hott Obama one-piece! It was So Fly of her to rock this look! Peep the yellow glove that says “YES”. Good look Katy Perry! Very Fly!

DJ KHALED feat. KANYE WEST & T-PAIN “GO HARD”

The dream maker’s gonna make you mad

~ The Killers - Spaceman (Live) ~

Spaceman is a new track off of the Killer’s upcoming album Day & Age, rumored to be the second single. Once again, the band returns to a sound more familiar to the Hot Fuss fans (which includes me). Takes some getting used to. But true fans appreciate it.

Fashion Quote of The Week

"Fashion is as profound and critical a part of the social life of man as sex, and is made up of the same ambivalent mixture of irresistible urges and inevitable taboos."

Archeologist Finds 3,000-year Old Hebrew Text.. Mentions Barack Obama

Archeologist Finds 3,000-year Old Hebrew Text.. Mentions Barack Obama

An Israeli archaeologist has discovered what he says is the earliest-known Hebrew text, found on a shard of pottery that dates to the time of King David from the Old Testament, about 3,000 years ago.

Professor Yosef Garfinkel of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem says the inscribed pottery shard — known as an ostracon — was found during excavations of a fortress from the 10th century BC.

Carbon dating of the ostracon, along with pottery analysis, dates the inscription to time of King David, about a millennium earlier than the famous Dead Sea Scrolls, the university said.

The shard contains five lines of text divided by black lines and measures 15 by 15 centimeters, or about 6 inches square.

Archaeologists have yet to decipher the text, but initial interpretation indicates it formed part of a letter and contains the roots of the words “judge,” “slave,” and “king,” according to the university. That may indicate it was a legal text, which archaeologists say would provide insights into Hebrew law, society, and beliefs.

The researchers say the text was clearly written by a trained scribe.

The shard was discovered at the Elah Fortress in Khirbet Qeiyafa, about 20 miles southwest of Jerusalem. The fortress, measuring 2.3 hectares (about 5.7 acres), is the earliest-known fortified city of the biblical period in Israel.

Excavations began there in June. So far, just four percent of the site has been excavated, the university said.

Because the ostracon is similar to that found in other Israelite settlements, and because no pig bones were found at the site, archaeologists say the site was likely part of the Kingdom of Judea. Jewish dietary laws forbid the eating of pork.

Among the artifacts found at the site are more than 100 jar handles bearing distinct impressions which may indicate a link to royal vessels, the university said. Such a large quantity found in such a small area is “unprecedented,” the university said.

The site of Khirbet Qeiyafa is located near the place where the Bible describes the battle between David and Goliath — the Elah Valley, which shares its name with the fortress.

Garfinkel said it is the only site in Israel in which to investigate King David.

“The chronology and geography of Khirbet Qeiyafa create a unique meeting point between the mythology, history, historiography and archaeology of King David,” he said.

The Dead Sea Scrolls are the earliest-known copies of the Bible, some dating back about 2,000 years.

It is widely believed that the first set of Dead Sea Scrolls was discovered in 1947 by a Bedouin shepherd who ventured into a cave in the Judean Desert in search of a lost sheep or goat.

The texts, written on crumbling parchment and papyrus, were found wrapped in linen inside earthenware jars.

R.I.P. Madelyn Payne Dunham

Source (Yahoo.com)

Barack Obama's grandmother, whose personality and bearing shaped much of the life of the Democratic presidential contender, has died, Obama announced Monday, one day before the election. Madelyn Payne Dunham was 86.

Obama announced the news from the campaign trail in Charlotte, N.C. The joint statement with his sister Maya Soetoro-Ng said Dunham died late Sunday night after a battle with cancer.

"She's gone home," Obama said as tens of thousands of rowdy supporters at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte grew silent in an evening drizzle.

"And she died peacefully in her sleep with my sister at her side. And so there is great joy as well as tears. I'm not going to talk about it too long because it is hard for me to talk about."

But he said he wanted people to know a little about her — that she lived through the Great Depression and World War II, working the latter on a bomber assembly line with a baby at home and a husband serving his country. He said she was humble and plain spoken, one of the "quiet heroes that we have all across America" working hard and hoping to see their children and grandchildren thrive.

"That's what we're fighting for," Obama said.

Uniqlo Human Vending Machines

Known for their elaborate marketing schemes, Japaneese clothing brand Uniqlo will be setting up ‘human vending machines’ around New York City on November 18th. As described by the Uniqlo representative:

“Basically we’re going to have two mimes. A male and a female mime inside the machine. And the public can see them through glass. When you get there, we’re going to have Uniqlo reps dressed in the silver bodysuits. And they’re going to hold a thermograph scanner — think of an airport security machine. The thermographer identifies cold spots in your body. After you go through that, you go to the vending machine and push a button and the mimes are going to do a synchronized choreographed routine and then your outfit comes out.”

Cudos to Uniqlo’s creative braintrust for another impactful marketing tactic.

Mackage Hope Coat

I stumbled upon Mackage because of their Hope coat, a limited-edition coat created to raise breast cancer awareness. One of the designers of Mackage, Elisa Dahan, wanted to honor her mother and create something that would raise funds to support breast cancer research. The Hope coat features a white lining with pink bows on it and pink piping on the outside. Aside from being a fabulous coat, what struck me was how refreshing it is that they didn’t just create a pink coat. They added pink in small details without sacrificing their aesthetic. $100 from the sale of each coat is donated to the Breast Cancer Research Fund.

If you like the Hope coat, you must check out the rest of the pictures from Mackage’s Fall/Winter ‘08 Collection. The photos are stunning and perfectly highlight the dramatic wool and leather coats with upturned collars and large fur hats. It’s very Julie Christie in Dr. Zhivago and I thought I’d never say this, but I want it to be cold so I could wear those coats! More pictures after the jump.

Don't Be That "One" Vote

It's your right, you choose to do what you want with it. The lines will be long. You could possibly be waiting hours to vote. It may be cold, you may have to miss class or miss work, but do not give up. Don't give into the statistic. It sounds cliche', but do you realize the potential you hold? YOU can BE the CHANGE that you want to see in the world. Yes, your ONE vote counts. Don't bank on the idea that everyone else will go out and vote and select the candidate that you want. Know the issues, make the choice. Vote on November 4, 2008!

Tech Freak : MacBook Touch & Kindle

Imagine a sleek leather portfolio that, when opened, reveals not a sheet of paper but an 8.5 x 11 screen (similar to the i-Phone but much larger) that allows for stylus input (virtual note-taking and scribble), touch manipulation and bluetooth / USB connectivity to allow the machine to simply function as the monitor of a typical desktop setup. An on-the-go keyboard might also be embedded in the inside cover of the portfolio making it function as a true laptop away from the office. Heaven.

My first encounter with the digital book was on the Oprah show earlier this week. I was amazed with it then, but never thought it would have a chance up against our paper books that we buy at Borders, because there's something about having the tangible product with it's creative cover and "new book smell"; But as I was walking from class , I noticed this older man with one, in hand. It was amazing. I'm a sucker for sleek and neat and this device took my breath away. I deemed it necessary to share such great technology with my fellow avid readers. Here's a little info from their actual website:

Introducing Kindle™

Three years ago, we set out to design and build an entirely new class of device—a convenient, portable reading device with the ability to wirelessly download books, blogs, magazines, and newspapers. The result is Amazon Kindle.

We designed Kindle to provide an exceptional reading experience. Thanks to electronic paper, a revolutionary new display technology, reading Kindle’s screen is as sharp and natural as reading ink on paper—and nothing like the strain and glare of a computer screen. Kindle is also easy on the fingertips. It never becomes hot and is designed for ambidextrous use so both "lefties" and "righties" can read comfortably at any angle for long periods of time.

We wanted Kindle to be completely mobile and simple to use for everyone, so we made it wireless. No PC and no syncing needed. Using the same 3G network as advanced cell phones, we deliver your content using our own wireless delivery system, Amazon Whispernet. Unlike WiFi, you’ll never need to locate a hotspot. There are no confusing service plans, yearly contracts, or monthly wireless bills—we take care of the hassles so you can just read.

With Whispernet, you can be anywhere, think of a book, and get it in one minute. Similarly, your content automatically comes to you, wherever you are. Newspaper subscriptions are delivered wirelessly each morning. Most magazines arrive before they hit newsstands. Haven’t read the book for tomorrow night’s book club? Get it in a minute. Finished your book in the airport? Download the sequel while you board the plane. Whether you’re in the mood for something serious or hilarious, lighthearted or studious, Kindle delivers your spontaneous reading choices on demand.

And because we know you can't judge a book by its cover, Kindle lets you download and read the beginning of books for free. This way, you can try it out—if you like it, simply buy and download with 1-Click, right from your Kindle, and continue reading. Want to try a newspaper as well? All newspaper subscriptions start with a risk-free two-week trial.

Kindle’s paperback size and expandable memory let you travel light with your library. With the freedom to download what you want, when you want, we hope you’ll never again find yourself stuck without a great read.

We're very proud to introduce Amazon Kindle and we hope you like it as much as we do.
