If I died and came back, I'd be a Hirajuku girl. These dresses are simply adorable. Hanako Narahira is a London based Japanese Knitwear master. This super colorful collection has a very Japanese spirit. The collection is inspired by graffiti on the Berlin wall, vivid color, motifs, and trace of time and people. The tights are hot too!

What Happens When We Finally Destroy Our Planet?... Futurism
It’s 2100. Humans haven’t gained control of their carbon emissions. The earth has warmed up. The oceans have risen. Millions of ecological refugees have nowhere to go. Unless, of course, they had the foresight to build Lilypads.
The brainchildren of Vincent Callebaut Architectures, the Lilypad is a design for an auto-sufficient amphibious city. If you’ve seen Wall-E, it’s a bit like the Axiom spaceship - a giant city with everything needed for humans to survive a major catastrophe. It also looks a bit like something that might be built off the coast of Dubai. Lilypads have a further benefit. Build one or two off the coast of Dubai, Hong Kong or Monaco - and, flood or no flood, you can significantly increase the size of your kingdom or principality. Lilypads house 50,000 people, as well as plants and animals. They have lakes and mountains, schools and multiplexes.

New Cap City

Via Mishka NYC:
In the wake of our giant biannual warehouse sale, we were pleased to show up to work today with a box of fresh Cap City custom color New Era team caps waiting on our doorstep.
This time we took the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Memphis Grizzlies, and the Minnesota Wild flipping their colors while inadvertently creating a very Mishka-esque theme with the teams we chose.
So don't be afraid and head out into the great outdoors to battle some of nature's most wild beasts, while looking good at the same time.

There was no apparent argument, Capt. Joseph Schaller said. The off-duty cop, Humberto Arboleda, 38, was "fooling around with his gun" in their apartment when it went off accidentally, Schaller said.
The woman was shot around 10:25 p.m. in the groin area and middle finger of her left hand. She was taken to Sound Shore Medical Center. Police said her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Arboleda was charged with misdemeanor third-degree assault in New Rochelle.
Schaller said the charge arises, despite the alleged accidental nature of the
shooting, because "you are not supposed to be fooling around with the gun."
Detective Madelyne Galindo of the NYPD public information office said Arboleda has been suspended without pay.

Love The New Look, The Show's Alright, But The Album is Nothing Special....

Overall, I thought the album went by very quickly and was easily forgettable. There wasn’t a lot of parts in the album that made you really want to play things back again. It was a great effort by Keyshia, but sadly it may have been my least favorite album from her to date. Maybe it’s because it liked the jumping party tracks like “Let It Go” or the soulful, “I can’t help but turn this up because this song is so captivating” style joints like “Love”. Overall, I commend Keyshia for showing us “A Different Me” (in her words), but the original her, the one we all knew and loved, was just fine. But hey... that's just my opinion. You decide for yourself:

More Heartbreak
I ran across Fred Hart's work via 2dopeboyz.com...it led me to gowherehiphop.com, where someone posted Fred's work...here's Fred's words on his workings...
“Well here it is, the complete series of my version of 808s & Heartbreak song covers! I begin with the initial cover for the album, and then go song by song, as they’re presented on the album, each telling a story through imagery, as a metaphor for the journey Kanye West has traveled that allowed us this genius piece of work, 808s & Heartbreak. Each cover looks to create a sort of frame by frame for the album as a whole, with imagery relating to each song, a still shot from each song that allows you to use the lyrics and project your interpretations of each song onto the piece. This is my tribute to Kanye West, whose trials and tribulations have undoubtedly made this the album of the year, if not this decade in my opinion, and a tribute to his mother Donda West as well. So I hope you enjoy this artwork, and please feel free to let me know what you think.” [Fred Hart aka Fhart06]

Fuck The Corruption... Wassup With This Guy's Bang??! LOL
JUST when I was wondering if anyone else noticed his "Trumpish" do...or should I say "don't!". A curious item in WWD, of all places, addresses recently arrested Illinois governor Rod R. Blagojevich. Pundits are aflutter over the whole selling Barack Obama's–Senate–seat thing. But who cares about that when his hair is so dark and helmetlike and foofy, all at the same time. America's top hairdressers can't stand it, and it gives me the creeps.
“[T]here’s no name for that,” said Calvin Klein’s hairstylist Roberto Novo. “Ugh” — to gasp in horror.
“Jack Lord from ‘Hawaii 5-0’ called. He wants his look back,” said Chris McMillan, the man behind Jennifer Aniston’s famed shag. “It’s very dated,” concurred Sally Hershberger, whose clients have included Meg Ryan, Courtney Love and Hillary Clinton. “And it looks like a wig.” […] Marc Zowine of Chelsea, N.Y., pointed out that a rug is not exactly an act of honesty: “It’s a cover up. It says a lot about a person.”
Oh, never mind all that. The real issue here is that Washington is no longer Hollywood for ugly people. Consider how hot the main players in the presidential race were (or at least tried to be). Cindy McCain in her $300,000 outfit; John McCain in his Ferragamo shoes with a $5,000-a-day makeup artist; Sarah Palin in Valentino and with a $110,000 hair and makeup person; Michelle Obama in Moschino, Thakoon, and Narciso Rodriguez; and Barack Obama in his fashion-designer-approved slim-cut Hart Schaffner Marx suits. How, oh, how did Blagojevich not get the memo that if the people who do Ryan Seacrest's hair aren't doing his on the side, something's awry? And for the record, hair experts, his do looks the way Donald Trump's would if he fell down a coal mine, like baby Jessica or Carrie in Little House on the Prairie.

Holiday Picks : Digital Cameras!
Note: I, a photographer, decided to go with another SLR. My stylish on-the-street portraits with a Canon EOS 5D, for $2,500 are gonna be nothing nice!
Anyways...

1. Kodak Zi6
The Good: The pocket camcorder is bulkier than Mino's Flip, but it has a memory-card expansion slot and shoots in 720p video—meaning you could use it for more than just YouTube vids.
The Bad: You can't recharge batteries via the USB and its software isn't Mac compatible.
The Price: $180 at Kodak.
2.Pentax Optio E60
The Good: Known for high-end film cameras, Pentax's digitals are often overlooked. The inch-thick E60's shake-reduction makes it ideal for action shots (or self-taken Facebook pics).
The Bad:It's powered by two AA batteries—even the rechargeable kind won't last you very long.
The Price: $140, at Amazon.com
3.Olympus Stylus 1050 SW
The Good: The tough Stylus series (shock, water and freeze proof) was updated with touch-contols that work by tapping the top or sides of the camera's body.
The Bad:A little bit mofre pricey than the others, but as far as that, it's great.
The Price:$260, at NewEgg.com

Mickey D's = Death: McDonald's Hamburger Looks The Same As It Did 12 Years Ago
Apparently a woman decided to see what would happen if she kept a McDonald's hamburger for 12 years...And the results are scary as fuck.
This is a hamburger from McDonalds that I purchased in 1996. That was 12 years ago. Note that it looks exactly like it did the very day I bought it.
So apparently McDonald's Hamburgers aren't biodegradable and have ZERO nutritional value. Anything that can preserve itself for over a decade can't be natural.
I knew it wasn't exactly healthy, But damn!
Sadly, I still don't know if I can give up the poison known as McDonald's.
Have you ever found yourself craving/feinding for some McDonald's? I honestly think there is some type of addictive quality put into the food.
Read the rest and see more pics of the unholy burger here.

New Dom Kennedy Interview (Vibe)
![]()
December 04, 2008 @ 1:50 pm
New West: Dom Kennedy
Jason Parham
Dom loves his city and the kids
EDITOR's NOTE: All this week, VIBE.com brings you profiles on a new class of L.A. emcees who are ready for their close up. Pay attention!
Government Name: Dominic Kennedy
My L.A.: Leimert Park
Album/ Mixtape: The 25th Hour mixtape (March 2008)
Signed/ Unsigned: Unsigned
My Jam: “Still Lookin”Dom Kennedy talks as if he has everything planned out. His life. His music career. And possibly even his death. His tattoo even reads, “In loving memory of hip hop”—a metaphor for how he wants to leave his mark on the game. “That’s how I live kind of, in memory,” he says eerily, eyes hidden under his gray Los Angeles Kings fitted. He looks up and continues, “When I die, all my music will go with me.” His talk of death is symbolic of greater ambitions, though: Dom Kennedy, 24, wants his music to stand the test of time. “My stories are stories that we’ve all lived,” he says. “Ten years from now a kid should be able to play my song and know exactly what I’m talking about.”
Kennedy, who grew up in Leimert Park—an area considered a staple of Los Angeles’ black community for its rich traditions—popped up on the L.A. music scene two years ago, and released his debut mixtape, The 25th Hour, in March of 2008. “The 25th Hour was my attempt to make a CD now that sounds like and feels like things that I grew up on and that people played for me,” says Dom. “I wanted it be like music that really influenced me.” Dom is quick to cite his influences—Ice Cube’s post-riot opus The Predator (Priority, 1992) and DJ Quik’s g-funkdafied Safe & Sound (Profile, 1995) and testosterone-induced Rhythmn-al-ism (Arista, 1998) – but he refuses to imitate the days of yesteryear. “Living off the past is not going to get us where we need to go. I gotta have my own ‘Bonita Applebum,’” Dom says. “Nobody else can tell my story—our story. And my story mirrors stories of hundreds, maybe thousands of kids in this city.”
Dom Kennedy is the everyday L.A. kid. He grew up the middle child in a loving family, attended Santa Monica High School, is a fan of the Lakers and Dodgers, and reps his city every chance he gets (the word Los Angeles comes up 26 times during conversation). Not too mention: Dom loves the kids. “I know what rap did for me when I was younger and how it affected me and a chance to do that and give it back—I had to,” he says, sitting in his blue Acura CL-type outside Earlez Grille off Crenshaw Boulevard. “Imagine how much power you have. You can mention something as simple as putting on a condom when you have sex with a girl or something. When you flip it in there and do it in a cool way people don’t even realize how much that will affect a kid. So now, they think it’s cool to stop at 7-Eleven to buy a condom. The chance to do that is incredible.” Kennedy understands. He was once that kid. Now he wants to revitalize the urban narrative with his music. “I was like four of five when “Around the Way Girl” came out, and still know all the lyrics to it,” he says. “But I never once learned anything from LL Cool J. I hope to not be like that. He’s never told me anything as far as, “Don’t do this …” That’s what a lot of newer rappers have problems about with older guys, because its not just the fact that they’re still competing with them, it’s the fact that they never told them shit like, “Hey, don’t do this …” Dom wants to change all that. “I don’t have a thesis or anything, but I do think that it could be a better place and that there could be a lot more fun and honesty through music.”
Already one mixtape deep into the fray, Kennedy is currently working on his next mixtape and is in talks to do a collaborative project with L.A. trio Pacific Division and Houston rapper Carter, but is certain not to lose sight of the bigger picture. “Kids need new shit. New music comes out and they have a right to have the same quality and dope shit we had,” he says. “We got to give it to them—and I might be the first one to really try and do that. I’m committed to doing that, even if I’m a martyr.”
Dope.
Look out for a G.o.D. Jewels x Dom Kennedy collab on my upcoming mixtape.

What Is Jewels Watching? Vol. True Blood | Season 1 | Episode 1 - Strange Love
True Blood is the latest hit drama from HBO (The third most-watched HBO series behind The Sopranos and Sex And The City).
The premise? Well, The show envisions a world where vampires do exist, And "come out of the coffin" so to speak. The vampires reveal themselves to the world because of the recent invention of synthetic blood (Tru Blood). Since they no longer need to feed on humans to survive, They try to integrate themselves into mainstream society...Well, Some of them. It draws parallels between the civil rights/gay rights movement, With some sci-fi/fantasy + drama/mystery elements mixed in.
Sounded corny to me at first, But I watched the first episode and ended up watching the whole season in a few days. The show is pretty well-done and believable (As believable as you can make a show about vampires).
