Don't Forget About The Kiddos...

And we're back! Did you miss us? We missed you! Now, to the business...
I must of went to about 50 billion stores searching for the "perfect" Christmas gift for about 50 billion different people. Therefore I saw about 50 billion children with Tonka trucks and trees on their shirts, which brings me to this... even though they are gonna grow out of the close in twenty minutes, they still can be fly. Depressed with the store's selection for children clothes for boys, I decided to see what I came up with online:
High Gloss has filled a void for some parents who find it hard to shop for unique and original clothing for children. High Gloss was created by a young mother, former graffiti artist who happens to be the founder of her own online magazine titled, “CULT Magazine“. High Gloss presents a message for the kiddies who have a love for graffiti/street art, music, art or fashion - a true reflection of their parents lifestyle and passion for all things creative.

CROOKS & CASTLES ...
Crooks & Castles are branching towards a younger crowd and with that being said parents get ready to lace your child with some Crooks gear. For those of you who are interested - they carry a limited run at the shop so give them a ring for all the good details and pricing.

Photography Spotlight : Steven Meisel

As a photographer, I am inspired to look at other photographer's work, and Steven Meisel is definitely one of my favorites - all his work is so avant garde. Here is Fashion Editorial for Vogue Italy, shot in 2005 inspired by Sin City -(other work by Meisel includes Madonna, Brad Pitt, and Angelina Vogue editorials, Louis Vuitton 2007 ad campaigns)

Charles Hamilton - Brooklyn Girls

My baby told me about this dude sometime last month. And remember the XXL post about the Freshman 10? Yeah, he was one of them. I must admit, His gimmick pisses me the fuck off,lol... I've never been into people who wore head phones without them being connected to anything, who doesn't cut their hair, and who wears pink button downs under Sega Sonic t-shirts. It bothers me. Maybe it's just me. Is it just me? But fuck all that... getting to the point, he's dope. I'm kinda feeling his music swag. His style is definitely a breath of fresh air BUT it tends to annoy me after about 5 minutes. He's crazy as hell (he explains his gimmick here),lol... But nonetheless, Dude's dope.

Beyonce Videos: Diva & Halo

She Never Keeps Us Waiting when it comes to videos. Guess You can afford to make a million videos when you a diva and you "so sick and filthy with benjis" ... Gotta Love "B". Serious Question though..How come"Sasha Fierce" has arched, waxed, groomed eyebrows and "Beyonce" has weird, thick, strange ones? What is this supposed to symbolize? LOL, Nonetheless, her beauty is angelic. Check out the videos from both personalities. I love to see her dance, the girl can move!

I Want To Be Lady GaGa When I Grow Up.

Sooo... For about a year now, I've been somewhat obsessed with new techno. And this woman (Lady GaGa) really rocks my socks. When I Grow up, I want to be her. She reminds me of my best friend Soune. Check it Out:

Remember This? "Boy unwraps fake X-box on Christmas"

I Forgot ALLLLLL about this, Mr. Jolla refreshed my memory. It was so mean of them to be so horrible to that child. It's cruel. Well, we know where this little boy will be in about 10 years... with a shot gun, aiming it at his parents while they are sleeping. Hey, I'm just saying... But the story had a happy ending. They actually ended up giving him an X-Box. They played the joke on him because the caught him sneaking, looking at the gifts. He got his x-box later though.

Kanye Rumor... Leaving Music?--- True Or False?

Grammy Award-winning rapper, record producer and Fashion Lover Kanye West plans to ditch his music career in favor of fashion. Kanye tells the London Daily Mirror he’ll move to London next year to begin at the bottom rung with an internship at Louis Vuitton’s UK HQ in Bond Street - “I’m going to go and take an internship and just do something that’s like completely normal, and just rap at the weekends or something.” I think it's cool...I love Kanye.. He just doesnt give a fuck.lol.

What Happens When We Finally Destroy Our Planet?... Futurism

It’s 2100. Humans haven’t gained control of their carbon emissions. The earth has warmed up. The oceans have risen. Millions of ecological refugees have nowhere to go. Unless, of course, they had the foresight to build Lilypads.

The brainchildren of Vincent Callebaut Architectures, the Lilypad is a design for an auto-sufficient amphibious city. If you’ve seen Wall-E, it’s a bit like the Axiom spaceship - a giant city with everything needed for humans to survive a major catastrophe. It also looks a bit like something that might be built off the coast of Dubai. Lilypads have a further benefit. Build one or two off the coast of Dubai, Hong Kong or Monaco - and, flood or no flood, you can significantly increase the size of your kingdom or principality. Lilypads house 50,000 people, as well as plants and animals. They have lakes and mountains, schools and multiplexes.

New Cap City

I don't know much about hats, because they are my hair's worst enemy (well, second to rain), but these seem fairly dope:

Via Mishka NYC:

In the wake of our giant biannual warehouse sale, we were pleased to show up to work today with a box of fresh Cap City custom color New Era team caps waiting on our doorstep.

This time we took the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, Memphis Grizzlies, and the Minnesota Wild flipping their colors while inadvertently creating a very Mishka-esque theme with the teams we chose.

So don't be afraid and head out into the great outdoors to battle some of nature's most wild beasts, while looking good at the same time.

Men's Tips: Winter Formal Wear

I've been to about 6 formal events already this winter and I can't help but to notice that the guys either had on horrible tuxes, have on prom suits from 2002, or thinks that dressing "grown man" (button down and a blazer) suffices. Ewww. Modern updates like a slimmer fit, slightly higher arm holes and a double-vent in back keep you from looking like you rented. All the Christmas parties are probably over, BUT you've still got New Years! Well, the rules have changed fellas and here's a run down:

The New Rules : How You're Really Supposed to Pull off the Perfect Tuxedo!

Toss It: Patent shoes
New & Fresh: Classic wing tips

Toss It: Cummerbund
New & Fresh: Tab-close pants

Toss It: Straight tie
New & Fresh: The bow tie's back (just ask Kanye)

Toss It: Wing collar
New & Fresh: Spread collar

Off-Duty NYPD Cop, "Fooling Around" With Gun, Accidentally Shoots His Wife In Her Vagina

New Rochelle cops: Off-duty NYPD officer accidentally shoots wife
Via:
My Bro (Love You Ronnie !)

http://www.lohud.com/article/20081220/NEWS02/812200344/0/NEWS01

NEW ROCHELLE - A New York City police officer accidentally shot his wife in the groin Thursday night, police said.

There was no apparent argument, Capt. Joseph Schaller said. The off-duty cop, Humberto Arboleda, 38, was "fooling around with his gun" in their apartment when it went off accidentally, Schaller said.

The woman was shot around 10:25 p.m. in the groin area and middle finger of her left hand. She was taken to Sound Shore Medical Center. Police said her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Arboleda was charged with misdemeanor third-degree assault in New Rochelle.

Schaller said the charge arises, despite the alleged accidental nature of the
shooting, because "you are not supposed to be fooling around with the gun."

Detective Madelyne Galindo of the NYPD public information office said Arboleda has been suspended without pay.

The NYPD are the sorriest saps that I know, lol... they always fuckin' up.

R.I.P. Stiletto Sneakers... Nike Shows How It's Supposed To Be Done

I almost think that Nike was forced to do this. With all the knock-offs and sneaker heels that weren't really sneakers, they had no choice but to save the day. They most likely wanted to be more realistic. I can't express how happy that I am that they didn't put a stiletto heel on this shoe. Thank God. I'm conservative when it comes to sneakers and pumps. They shan't be combined. Whoever thought to put a stiletto heel on a sneaker knew nothing about class or taste or style. Nike Remixed & Recut by Nancy Wu is a nice transition and is the most innovative design that Nike has had to cater to women who likes comfort but also style. I’m so ready for these to drop! A long wait it’s going to be since they’re under wraps ’til Spring 2010! Wowzers!

Coco Chanel Earrings

I WANT THESE. I love love love these earrings! Yes, they’re vintage earrings by CHANEL && the icing on the cake---> They're Gold! I think that they are the perfect mix for a girl like me. I always want oversized medallion earrings, but had trouble maintaining my classy with them on, didn't want them to be mistaken for "Beauty Shop" jewelry, lol. Thanks CoCo ! - now available for purchase at Fruition LV for only $180 (USD) - Lots of great finds at the shop, make sure you check them out.

Marc Jacobs x Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse

Here’s one to add to your collection. I'm a Coach Girl, but I may crossover as Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs pays homage to the great Stephen Sprouse with a limited edition collection of accessories and ready-to-wear — bags, sneakers, pumps, sunglasses, head/wrist bands, leggings, and dresses. Also, the anticipated launch for welovesprouse.com (very colorful and very Sprouse) is now live in full effect! The website also includes a line up of interviews from people that knew Sprouse like Patricia Field, Debbie Harry, and Candy Pratts Price. The collection will be available world wide on January 9, 2009 - mark it, mark it, mark it! Read more to preview the full collection.

Love The New Look, The Show's Alright, But The Album is Nothing Special....

Keyshia Cole released her third studio album this Tuesday entitled 'A Different Me". I thinks she looks Hot! & her show is entertaining, but The album, which includes production from Ron Fair, Theron "Neffu" Feemster & Poke and Tone, and others, is not all that. As we’ve seen plenty in this year of 2008, artists are following a trend of showing the world a “different” side of them personally and musically. Judging by the title of Keyshia’s newest release, she must have that in mind as well. I love her new look, but this new sound is doing nothing for me. I'm no music expert, BUT I think this album may have ended her career (I'm extreme). Okay maybe it won't, but it definitely is mediocre, IMO. I like about 3/15 songs. Horrible ratio. The first half of the album is really awkward. I gave up all hope until track 10,"Trust" featuring Monica. Monica saved her. TRUST was a really solid duet track.

Overall, I thought the album went by very quickly and was easily forgettable. There wasn’t a lot of parts in the album that made you really want to play things back again. It was a great effort by Keyshia, but sadly it may have been my least favorite album from her to date. Maybe it’s because it liked the jumping party tracks like “Let It Go” or the soulful, “I can’t help but turn this up because this song is so captivating” style joints like “Love”. Overall, I commend Keyshia for showing us “A Different Me” (in her words), but the original her, the one we all knew and loved, was just fine. But hey... that's just my opinion. You decide for yourself:

Okay... Somebody Sign This Guy. I Dig.

Homeless Guy gives T-Pain & Weezy a run for their money! And Yes, He is making those auto tune sounds with his mouth. You can tell he doesn't know what's going on in the industry because he referenced Warren G, lmao. Check it Out!

"She Got Peter-Rican Hair"

LOL, The other day my roommate was writing a research paper about Crooklyn and it made me think back to the good old days. I loved this movie! Here are two of my favorite clips! Enjoy Kiddos.

Little Girl sings Jeezy's "Put On"... Cuss Words & All..

She's too hilarious. Adorable, put they could of at least taught her the censored Wal-Mart version.

David Wilcock On Alien Technology, Time Travel, Black Ops, The Illuminati, The Spiritual Realm, And 2012

One of the most thorough and detailed people I've ever heard speak on these topics. The amount of research he's done is unmatched by anyone in the field. He also is in contact with individuals who've actually worked in government black ops projects (Montauk Project, Project Looking Glass).

If you're not an open-minded type of person (I would hope you are since you're reading this blog) who takes things strictly at face value, This probably isn't for you. But if you're like me, And you've always thought there was more to this world than what has been presented to us, You might find this intriguing. This particular video has 5 parts. I know how terribly short some people's attention spans are nowadays, But it's worth checking out in it's entirety:

Sidenote- If you're a fan of the show Lost, Notice the eerie similarities between what David Wilcock is talking about and some of themes presented in Lost. I think that the producers may have drawn inspirations from some of these events. Pretty crazy.

Also, If you have an hour and a half to kill, Watch 2012 Enigma. It goes even DEEPER into this stuff...If that's possible.

Life Of The Party

It's The Holiday season... meaning their will be about one million parties. And you don't want to be that person... you know what person I'm talking about, the one that you wish would just go HOME! lol. The Simmons Girls Get Their Own Show

I first saw this info on Aramide's blog, TheSassyPeach.Blogspot.com. And I admit, I was excited at first BUT seems a little "Brooke Hogan's Showish",lol. :sigh: I swear VH1 and MTV will milk a spin off til it's crusty dry. 'm a former reality TV addict, but I think this train has reached its end. We'll see. But nonetheless, it's gonna be interesting to see what the girls have been up to...Here's a clip.

Via The Sassy Peach:
So a while back I told you guys that Angela & Vanessa Simmons were getting their very own reality show. Well, here is a preview of the show & I already know I'll be tuning in. Take a sneak peek! The show officially hits airwaves January 5th on MTV.

More Heartbreak

Via My GoOD friend Mr. Ronnie:

I ran across Fred Hart's work via 2dopeboyz.com...it led me to gowherehiphop.com, where someone posted Fred's work...here's Fred's words on his workings...

“Well here it is, the complete series of my version of 808s & Heartbreak song covers! I begin with the initial cover for the album, and then go song by song, as they’re presented on the album, each telling a story through imagery, as a metaphor for the journey Kanye West has traveled that allowed us this genius piece of work, 808s & Heartbreak. Each cover looks to create a sort of frame by frame for the album as a whole, with imagery relating to each song, a still shot from each song that allows you to use the lyrics and project your interpretations of each song onto the piece. This is my tribute to Kanye West, whose trials and tribulations have undoubtedly made this the album of the year, if not this decade in my opinion, and a tribute to his mother Donda West as well. So I hope you enjoy this artwork, and please feel free to let me know what you think.” [Fred Hart aka Fhart06]

"YOU DIDN'T PAY FOR THAT MU'FuCKA!"

FIRST of all, I am DYING at 0:41 seconds. LOL, typical. I love this video, and I want to go to this restaurant one day. The people at The Wiener Circle are hilarious, they lettin’ you know that you ain't shit if you ain't shit (lol). I know you have probably heard the bleeped out NPR friendly version, but here is the real. Some folks are idiots with it, but at least they get the berating they deserve. Plus you know you’d have to post up, just to see what’s coming next... sooner or later those people are gonna need bulletproof glass.

Man Throws Shoes at Bush

Fuck The Corruption... Wassup With This Guy's Bang??! LOL

JUST when I was wondering if anyone else noticed his "Trumpish" do...or should I say "don't!". A curious item in WWD, of all places, addresses recently arrested Illinois governor Rod R. Blagojevich. Pundits are aflutter over the whole selling Barack Obama's–Senate–seat thing. But who cares about that when his hair is so dark and helmetlike and foofy, all at the same time. America's top hairdressers can't stand it, and it gives me the creeps.

“[T]here’s no name for that,” said Calvin Klein’s hairstylist Roberto Novo. “Ugh” — to gasp in horror.

“Jack Lord from ‘Hawaii 5-0’ called. He wants his look back,” said Chris McMillan, the man behind Jennifer Aniston’s famed shag. “It’s very dated,” concurred Sally Hershberger, whose clients have included Meg Ryan, Courtney Love and Hillary Clinton. “And it looks like a wig.” […] Marc Zowine of Chelsea, N.Y., pointed out that a rug is not exactly an act of honesty: “It’s a cover up. It says a lot about a person.”

Oh, never mind all that. The real issue here is that Washington is no longer Hollywood for ugly people. Consider how hot the main players in the presidential race were (or at least tried to be). Cindy McCain in her $300,000 outfit; John McCain in his Ferragamo shoes with a $5,000-a-day makeup artist; Sarah Palin in Valentino and with a $110,000 hair and makeup person; Michelle Obama in Moschino, Thakoon, and Narciso Rodriguez; and Barack Obama in his fashion-designer-approved slim-cut Hart Schaffner Marx suits. How, oh, how did Blagojevich not get the memo that if the people who do Ryan Seacrest's hair aren't doing his on the side, something's awry? And for the record, hair experts, his do looks the way Donald Trump's would if he fell down a coal mine, like baby Jessica or Carrie in Little House on the Prairie.

Barbie Fashion Book

Yep. Definately just "jizzed" in my pants, lmao. I’m going absolutely gaga over this news! “To celebrate Barbie’s 50 year anniversary Assouline just released a $500, 128-page tome chronicling the iconic doll’s glamorous history, called Barbie, by Yona Zeldis McDonough.” The Barbie Fashion Book is a larger than life Barbie format with actually photos tacked onto the pages so you can remove them and frame them if you wish. “More than a dozen designers have outfitted her since she first hit shelves in 1959, including Givenchy, Versace, Vera Wang, Donna Karan, and Zac Posen.” The Book is a bit pricey, but for those who cherished the ground that Barbie walked on, it's a steal! Besides, I'll make all the money back by selling my old Barbie dolls on Ebay.

What Is She Going To Wear?!

WWD ask to 34 Designers to imagine and sketch Michelle Obama outfit for the Inaugural Ball of January 20th - Among them Christian Lacroix who made probably the best drawing, and other Fashion Designer such as Oscar de la Renta, Diane Von Fustenberg, Zac Posen, Elie Tahari and many more…

A pretty cool Advertising campaign for the new collections of Nixon Watches and a New Collection of Headphones who looks pretty sick !!

"God Created Us Naked"- Page

Bettie Page captured the imagination of a generation of men and women with her free spirit and unabashed sensuality.
Yes, Late...But Hey, I've had 5 finals, and two twenty page research papers... one being about oil, lol. So ummm, I'm gonna miss stuff. I'm gonna be late. But on a serious note, I was sad to see that an icon has passed. After suffering from a heart attack last week, the iconic original “Pin-up” girl, Bettie Page, passed away the other day at 85 years old. In an era where married couples slept in separate beds, Bettie Page was one of the original pioneers of the Sexual Revolution of the 1950s. Her and Marilyn were my girls. The original divas. My condolences.

Holiday Picks : Digital Cameras!

It's winter. It's almost winter break. We party. We go out. We get drunk. Our favorite song comes on. We dance. And in a drunken rage...We break our digital cameras. Oh Don't lie! It has happened to you! Don't worry, Billionheiress here, saving the day again. While searching for a camera, due to my own personal uh ruh... infraction, I came across some great new cameras that were easy on the pockets! Three new cameras high in quality but low in price have just hit the market. Here's a quick and dirty assessment of how the anticipated point-and-shoots products measure up.

Note: I, a photographer, decided to go with another SLR. My stylish on-the-street portraits with a Canon EOS 5D, for $2,500 are gonna be nothing nice!

Anyways...
1. Kodak Zi6
The Good: The pocket camcorder is bulkier than Mino's Flip, but it has a memory-card expansion slot and shoots in 720p video—meaning you could use it for more than just YouTube vids.
The Bad: You can't recharge batteries via the USB and its software isn't Mac compatible.
The Price: $180 at Kodak.

2.Pentax Optio E60
The Good: Known for high-end film cameras, Pentax's digitals are often overlooked. The inch-thick E60's shake-reduction makes it ideal for action shots (or self-taken Facebook pics).
The Bad:It's powered by two AA batteries—even the rechargeable kind won't last you very long.
The Price: $140, at Amazon.com

3.Olympus Stylus 1050 SW
The Good: The tough Stylus series (shock, water and freeze proof) was updated with touch-contols that work by tapping the top or sides of the camera's body.
The Bad:A little bit mofre pricey than the others, but as far as that, it's great.
The Price:$260, at NewEgg.com

Spring Preview 2009- Ralph Lauren

Legends

Some people are just special. They have an uncanny ability to just make what they do appear effortless...smooth, seamless. They have an innate propensity for greatness, passion, inspiration and talent. These are the geniuses of our world, those who become the greats, the legends, the geniuses in their respective fields. In the fickle world of music, where true talent and genius can be scarce, Ryan Leslie will be considered one of these legends when it is all said and done. Promise.

The 30 year old Harlem native, whose production credits include work with Cassie, Diddy, Beyonce, Britney Spears, Usher and Danity Kane; produces such great work as a result of his unrivaled love and passion for music, evidenced by his chosen career path in music, and not the pursuit of a political, or corporate career ( Leslie graduated Harvard University at th age of 19 with a degree in both economics and political science). Ryan's most recent exploits, his own album, will introduce him to the world as a force to be reckoned with. As a musician, Ryan's ability to sing/rap/write/produce/engineer is truly a thing to behold.

Check out some of his work....

Mickey D's = Death: McDonald's Hamburger Looks The Same As It Did 12 Years Ago

Umm...Wow.

Apparently a woman decided to see what would happen if she kept a McDonald's hamburger for 12 years...And the results are scary as fuck.

This is a hamburger from McDonalds that I purchased in 1996. That was 12 years ago. Note that it looks exactly like it did the very day I bought it.

So apparently McDonald's Hamburgers aren't biodegradable and have ZERO nutritional value. Anything that can preserve itself for over a decade can't be natural.

I knew it wasn't exactly healthy, But damn!

Sadly, I still don't know if I can give up the poison known as McDonald's.

Have you ever found yourself craving/feinding for some McDonald's? I honestly think there is some type of addictive quality put into the food.

Read the rest and see more pics of the unholy burger here.

New Dom Kennedy Interview (Vibe)

December 04, 2008 @ 1:50 pm

New West: Dom Kennedy

Jason Parham

Dom loves his city and the kids

EDITOR's NOTE: All this week, VIBE.com brings you profiles on a new class of L.A. emcees who are ready for their close up. Pay attention!

Government Name: Dominic Kennedy
My L.A.: Leimert Park
Album/ Mixtape: The 25th Hour mixtape (March 2008)
Signed/ Unsigned: Unsigned
My Jam: “Still Lookin”

Dom Kennedy talks as if he has everything planned out. His life. His music career. And possibly even his death. His tattoo even reads, “In loving memory of hip hop”—a metaphor for how he wants to leave his mark on the game. “That’s how I live kind of, in memory,” he says eerily, eyes hidden under his gray Los Angeles Kings fitted. He looks up and continues, “When I die, all my music will go with me.” His talk of death is symbolic of greater ambitions, though: Dom Kennedy, 24, wants his music to stand the test of time. “My stories are stories that we’ve all lived,” he says. “Ten years from now a kid should be able to play my song and know exactly what I’m talking about.”

Kennedy, who grew up in Leimert Park—an area considered a staple of Los Angeles’ black community for its rich traditions—popped up on the L.A. music scene two years ago, and released his debut mixtape, The 25th Hour, in March of 2008. “The 25th Hour was my attempt to make a CD now that sounds like and feels like things that I grew up on and that people played for me,” says Dom. “I wanted it be like music that really influenced me.” Dom is quick to cite his influences—Ice Cube’s post-riot opus The Predator (Priority, 1992) and DJ Quik’s g-funkdafied Safe & Sound (Profile, 1995) and testosterone-induced Rhythmn-al-ism (Arista, 1998) – but he refuses to imitate the days of yesteryear. “Living off the past is not going to get us where we need to go. I gotta have my own ‘Bonita Applebum,’” Dom says. “Nobody else can tell my story—our story. And my story mirrors stories of hundreds, maybe thousands of kids in this city.”

Dom Kennedy is the everyday L.A. kid. He grew up the middle child in a loving family, attended Santa Monica High School, is a fan of the Lakers and Dodgers, and reps his city every chance he gets (the word Los Angeles comes up 26 times during conversation). Not too mention: Dom loves the kids. “I know what rap did for me when I was younger and how it affected me and a chance to do that and give it back—I had to,” he says, sitting in his blue Acura CL-type outside Earlez Grille off Crenshaw Boulevard. “Imagine how much power you have. You can mention something as simple as putting on a condom when you have sex with a girl or something. When you flip it in there and do it in a cool way people don’t even realize how much that will affect a kid. So now, they think it’s cool to stop at 7-Eleven to buy a condom. The chance to do that is incredible.” Kennedy understands. He was once that kid. Now he wants to revitalize the urban narrative with his music. “I was like four of five when “Around the Way Girl” came out, and still know all the lyrics to it,” he says. “But I never once learned anything from LL Cool J. I hope to not be like that. He’s never told me anything as far as, “Don’t do this …” That’s what a lot of newer rappers have problems about with older guys, because its not just the fact that they’re still competing with them, it’s the fact that they never told them shit like, “Hey, don’t do this …” Dom wants to change all that. “I don’t have a thesis or anything, but I do think that it could be a better place and that there could be a lot more fun and honesty through music.”

Already one mixtape deep into the fray, Kennedy is currently working on his next mixtape and is in talks to do a collaborative project with L.A. trio Pacific Division and Houston rapper Carter, but is certain not to lose sight of the bigger picture. “Kids need new shit. New music comes out and they have a right to have the same quality and dope shit we had,” he says. “We got to give it to them—and I might be the first one to really try and do that. I’m committed to doing that, even if I’m a martyr.”

Dope.

Look out for a G.o.D. Jewels x Dom Kennedy collab on my upcoming mixtape.

What Is Jewels Watching? Vol. True Blood | Season 1 | Episode 1 - Strange Love

Switching gears from comedy for a moment: True Blood.

True Blood is the latest hit drama from HBO (The third most-watched HBO series behind The Sopranos and Sex And The City).

The premise? Well, The show envisions a world where vampires do exist, And "come out of the coffin" so to speak. The vampires reveal themselves to the world because of the recent invention of synthetic blood (Tru Blood). Since they no longer need to feed on humans to survive, They try to integrate themselves into mainstream society...Well, Some of them. It draws parallels between the civil rights/gay rights movement, With some sci-fi/fantasy + drama/mystery elements mixed in.

Sounded corny to me at first, But I watched the first episode and ended up watching the whole season in a few days. The show is pretty well-done and believable (As believable as you can make a show about vampires).

True Blood - Strange Love

Enjoy.

You Know You Loved Em'!

Don't tell me the pic doesn't bring back good ol' memories?! CASH MONEY MILLIONAIRES WAS THE SH*T!!! Don't tell me you didn't love Juvenile, Lil Wayne (the old Lil Wayne), B.G., Turk, Baby, and Mannie Fresh?! The Hot Boys...Big Tymers...Bling Bling...Baller Blockin....New Orleans was poppin....when you could actually understand what Lil Wayne was saying...when chicks had mad crushes on Turk...when everyone on yo block tried to sound like Juvenile...when B.G. was considered the dopest one in the group (lol)...when Birdman and Mannie Fresh was cool and friends and sh*t.....HELL...when ALL of em' was friends! LOL! *sigh* Man I miss the good ol days. But I will ALWAYS love the Cash Money Millionaires...and I know you will too. :-)

I decided to lift spirts with this one...

"I have my high heels on inside the boots!"

The things I find while surfing the net... WOW. A SHOE UMBRELLA? Everyone loves to wear rainboots (The new cute rubber colorful ones, lol) but sometimes you want to wear your favorite shoes out despite the rain. Shuella has come up with the perfect alternative to the typical rain boots with their self-described shoe umbrellas. The clencher here is that you can throw these on over your favorite heels and still look really stylish with the appearance of wearing cool boots. The are really cute, and very practical. Think you'll have to be carrying around an extra pair of shoes? Nope. Actually these shoes fold up as compact as rubber gloves so you can just toss them in their plastic casing and put them in your purse. Despite the compactness, they are still good quality and will last up against that ruff winter sleet.

Creativity Shines

So I seen this video awhile ago...but I've never stopped loving it. This song is called "Soon We'll Be Found" by the artist Sia off of her album, Some People Have REAL Problems (In Stores Now!). Not only do I love the song, but I love the video even more. It is directed by Claire Carre (Job well done Claire!). The video tells a story through sign language and gets more creative towards the end. Your eyes won't leave the screen. Beautiful. Elegant. Unique....Gotta Love It!

Comedic Influence

OHHHHH SH*T!!! This is hilarious! Have you ever typed in something in YouTube and you get something totally unexpected?...That is how I found the video below. This is called "Indian Thriller". Yes...the Indian version of Michael Jackson's hit, "Thriller". Isn't MJ such a big influence on everybody?! lol. I mean the video is basically the same. Dude got on the infamous jacket and everything! lol.

H&M Spring Preview

Did some browsing on the net and came across an interesting new collection from H&M’s Spring ‘09 delivery. Looks like their toning the colors down with more subtle pastel colors, big draped tops, jackets and lots of layering - dramatic with light hues. Love it!

SEX... ON WHEELS

The GT by Citroen

I'm STILL saving up for that spaceship that I wanted, but I think until then, THIS is the closest thing I'm going to get to a space vehicle. It's so freaking futuristic and I want one.

If you’re one of the millions that owns a copy of Gran Turismo 5 for the PS3, you’re going to love this one… In a surprise move by this French automaker, Citroen has revealed this virtual machine as a real world concept car today at the Paris Auto Show. A joint venture with the makers of Gran Turismo, the GTbyCitroen is expected to hit 62mph from zero in just 3.6 seconds. The GT achieves this from a hybrid combustion/fuel cell engine with a total of 752 horses. We’re guessing the GTbyCitroen will never see the light of day as far as production, but with the release of this concept, we can at least be optimistic. - via Gear Crave

Kanye x KAWS

If you haven't already copped 808s & Heartbreak (released on November 24th)...you're weird. Cuz that sh*t is mind-blowing in my opinion. However, I won't jump to conclusions. MAYBE you're waiting on the KAWS edition that releases in stores on December 16th (I'll give you the benefit of the doubt). Kanye is collabing with exquisite artist/designer KAWS for a second cover of his latest release. This is a major cop for the people intrigued with the art/brand (such as...MYSELF!).

BTW: For all you doubters, check out the 1st track of the album, "Say You Will"...
Say You Will - Kanye West
....Don't tell me you're not curious...

Hot Sh*t!

Aren't you ready for the release of Common's album, Universal Mind Control, on December 9th?? (Hell yea...i know you are). If you're hesitant, just peep some of the tracks on the web. If you're too lazy to search, check out one of the tracks below. It's called Punch Drunk Love (The Eye) and its featuring Kanye on the chorus...Neptunes produced it. That's a pretty dope collabo if I'm not mistaken...

Flyer Than The Rest Of 'Em...

Wale - Nike Boots

Young Rey Mysterio mixed with Chavo Guerrero...Yup.

Jay-Z ft. Santogold - Brooklyn Go Hard (Prod. By KanYe West)

From the Notorious soundtrack:

"Spread Love", Biggie...Brooklyn...Hippie.

It goes hard indeed.

'Ye ain't lost a step on the production either.

What Is Jewels Watching? Vol. It's Always Sunny | Season 4 | Episode 12 - The Gang Gets Extreme: Home Makeover Edition

Second installment.

The last "What Is Jewels Watching" post I did was The Office, So it's only right to follow that up with my other favorite comedy series on TV right now: It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia.

The show follows "The Gang", Consisting of Dennis, Dee, Charlie, Mac, And Frank...Who are perhaps the most disgusting, Immoral humans being you will ever witness.

The show is best described as Seinfeld on crack...Debauchery!

This episode had me in tears...It's pure genius.
